From the jungles into the Vineyard

“I was a robber and used to loot trucks on the highway,” shared Reysingh as he narrated his story.

We were a gang of four and we would put obstacles on the road, as trucks would navigate a steep winding road through the jungles. We would loot them and run away with everything our hands would find. The police would chase us and we were in and out prison several times but I was too involved in this to leave it. I also had several court cases against me, but nothing would stop me. One day I became very sick and I thought that I would die.

In the last days

The day began with a bang.
We had to be on the road at 5am to drive three hours and reach the service at 8. It took some extra time to navigate rough roads, avoiding trucks and pits and carefully driving through long bridges without any railings on the sides. We lost some time collecting few more precious people along the way and by the time we reached Chapri, it was already 9am.
The sun was beginning to shine its best and we were looking to park our car in a shade, but there was no shade to be seen for miles and so we decided to park it along the main street. And then we were escorted inside.
