Blind Man Arrested for Preaching Jesus

28 year old Balu, was arrested today for preaching the gospel and was charged with forcibly converting people to become Christians. Balu is totally blind, and he was arrested while he was leading a service in the village. He was led to the local police station where they framed the charges against him and remanded him to custody till the 25th of August.

He was released after four days when a bail was furnished by those who were with himBalu is an active evangelist and moves from village to village preaching the good news and praying for the people. He is part of a group of young men who are passionate about Jesus and demonstrate signs and wonders when they pray for the needy.

Balu and his friends, as a team have established several congregations in the course of the last few years and all of these congregations are thriving by the grace of God. While they place young men to take care of these, the team itself moves from village to village preaching the gospel in pioneer locations.

“When I met Balu for the first time, he was introduced to me as an evangelist. I did not believe it. But then the service began. No one could stop him. He was singing, leading, praying with such joy and authority. I was moved to tears when I considered how I had doubted him,” said one of the leaders of the ministry.

The region where he was arrested is witnessing one of the greatest moves of the Holy Spirit that was ever seen. God’s power combined with enthusiastic young men and abundant harvest has resulted in a great outburst of antagonism against the servants of God. But it has not hindered the kingdom expansion. On the contrary, it continues to flourish as ever.

How Balu enthusiastically preaches the gospel through his words and actions in spite of his physical disability is still a wondrous mystery for us. Let us all pray for him as we look forward to the power of God to shake things up (Acts 16) and raise more stalwarts out of such situations.
